Situated in the Western Himalayas at an altitude of 1,960 meter above sea level in the beautiful hill state of Himachal Pradesh is the “Mini Switzerland of India” – Khajjiar. The glorious mountains of Khajjiar have enormous unblemished & immaculate exquisiteness to offer to its visitors.
The package also includes a visit to Dalhousie which was established by the British Empire in 1854 as summer retreat for its soldiers and bureaucrats.
Chamba situated on the right bank of fast flowing Ravi River founded in 9th Century by Raja Sahil Varman and home to the famous Bhuri Singh Museum, Laxmi Narayan temple and Chaugan.

Our cab or representative will receive you at railway station and proceed for Khajjiar. As you drive from Pathankot towards Khajjiar you will be mesmerized by the enchanting views of Ranjit Sagar Lake.You can stop at Dunera for purchasing Aam papad (Mango pulp and concentrated sugar dried in sun).
On reaching Khajjiar - “The Mini Switzerland of India”, check in to your pre-booked room and refresh. Later enjoy the lush green meadows surrounded by thick pine and cedar forests and have a feel of Switzerland. You can also visit the temple of Khajji Nag, dedicated to serpent God from which the name Khajjiar is derived. There is one Pandav tree near the temple which has six shoots of same height representing five Pandavas and their common wife Draupadi.

Finish your breakfast and drive to the princely town of Chamba famous for its paintings & cultural heritage. On reaching Chamba visit the famous Bhuri Singh museum which houses the family paintings of Bhuri Singh the ruler of Chamba, embroidered Chamba rumaals, coins, hill jewellery and costumes- both traditional and royal, arms and armour, musical instruments and numerous decorative objects.
Later we will visit the Laxmi Narayan temple built in 10th Century by Raja Sahil Varman and Chamba Chaugan famous for the annual Minjar Fair.In the evening drive back to Khajjiar for dinner & night stay.
Tip: Don’t miss to buy a jar of Chamba Chukh which is a unique mashed Chilly pickle and Chamba Chappal – leather sandals with embroidery done with silk and golden threads called russi-tilla.

In the morning after breakfast you can do horse riding, zorbing or simply stroll leisurely around the Khajjiar Lake. Later we will drive towards Dalhousie passing through magnificent Deodar forests. On our way we will visit the most fascinating place in the area- Dain Kund(2,745 M) or Singing Hill. It is the highest point of the area with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. The place derived its name from the Witch’s Pond (Dain Kund) at the top of hill. People believe that in the olden times there were witches staying in that place.
Later we will drive towards Dalhousie which is located at a height of 9000 feet on five hills and offer a gratifying trekking experience to toddlers as well as trekkers. Dalhousie is rich in colonial architecture and is famous for ancient temples to Gothic styled churches. On reaching Dalhousie we will check in to the hotel.
In the afternoon we will visit St. Andrew's Church or popularly known as Church of Scotland built in 1903 by Protestant Christians. We will also take you on a visit to more than century old St. Francis church built in 1894. As you enter the church you will be surprised to see the fine glass designs on the windows and the tinted glass of the panes. The stone exterior gives an aura of Victorian architecture.
In the evening return to your hotel for dinner & night stay.
Shopping Tip: The Tibetan market, located at Gandhi Chowk, is an ideal shopping hub in Dalhousie and one of the popular tourist sites offering spectrum of goods including bags, dolls, handicrafts, carpets and purses. Besides the Tibetan market, the Mall of Dalhousie is also a popular shopping destination.
Don’t miss to buy Buddhist paintings, variety of copper and silver 'diyas', carpets and souvenirs from Tibetan market and Tibetan Handicrafts Centre.

Welcome another refreshing morning and have your scrumptious breakfast at the hotel. Today we will be visiting the Jandri Ghat that enfolds an elegant palace surrounded by lush green deodar and pine trees. The beautiful colonial style palace is a typical European double-storeyed bungalow, built in 1870-71 by Raja Gopal Singh. A beautifully laid out garden makes the entrance to the gorgeous bungalow.
You can also visit Bakrota Hill and can take a walk round the hills which gives a magnificent view of snow-clad peaks. One of the best things about taking a walk through Bakrota Hills is the unpredictable come and go of the sunshine through 'Deodar' trees.
We will drive back to Panchpulla where water from natural resources flow under five bridges. On the way to Panchpulla we will also visit the waterfalls of Satdhara, whose waters are believed to have high mica content and can cure several ailments.
Later we will return back to Dalhousie and evening is free for leisure activities. You can take a refreshing and charming walk on the Thandi Sadak (Cold Way) which remains under the shadows of hill always.Dinner & night stay at hotel.
Don’t forget to try Chinese chowmein, Tibetan momos, South Indian idlis, and Kashmiri fare which are all available at restaurants on the Mall.

Post breakfast we will proceed for Pathankot. We will have short photo shoot breaks on the way from Dalhousie to Pathankot.We will drop you at the railway station or desired place. It’s time to say good bye and we are sure that you will really have a feel of Switzerland in India.
